Undercarriage
  • Change oil filter.
  • Check manual transmission oil (add oil if required).
  • Change automatic transmission oil and strainer (on Inspection I only).
  • Check rear axle oil level (add oil if required).
  • Check fuel tank lines and connections for leaks.
  • Check condition, position and mounting of exhaust system. Examine for leaks.
  • Check brakes: thickness of pads and drums. Inspect brake cylinders and dust boots for leaks. Check and adjust parking brake. Check brake system connections and lines for leaks, damage, and incorrect positioning. Grease wheel centering hubs.
  • Check condition of suspension track rods, front axle joints, steering linkage, and joint disc.
  • Check tire pressure and tread wear.
  • Check tension and condition of V-belts.
Engine Compartment
  • Change spark plugs.
  • Replace air filter.
  • Replace fuel filter.
  • Check valve clearances and adjust if necessary.
  • Check cooling system and all connections and heater hoses for leaks. Check coolant level (add coolant if required). [see annual check].
  • Check steering gear or power steering for leaks and correct oil level.
  • Check brake and clutch fluid (add fluid if necessary). [see anual check]
  • Check windshield washer fluids.
  • Check ground connection for SRS front-sensor screws to body.
  • Check battery electrolyte level and add distilled as required.
  • Tighten A/C compressor mount bolts.
  • Check air conditioner for operation and proper Freon charge.
  • Clean and lubricate bearing points and moving parts of the throttle butterfly linkage.
  • Check compression:
Body Electrical
  • Check steering for absence of play in straight ahead position. Adjust if necessary (invoiced separately).
  • Check operation of wipers and washer system:blades, washers and jet position.
  • Check condition and function of seat belts.
  • Tighten nuts and bolts for door locks and striker plates.
  • Oil hinges of doors, hood, and lid; grease hood and lid catches, door catches and striker plates. Check operation of each component.
  • Self-leveling suspension:check oil level with vehicle unloaded (add oil as required)
  • Check lighting:headlights, parking, back-up, license plate, interior, glove box, map lights, sun visor, engine and luggage compartment light. Align headlights if necessary.
  • Warning equipment: turn signals, hazard flashers, brake lights, brake lining, brake fluid level, battery, transmission display range, "check engine" light, horns, headlight dimmer and flasher switch, check control panel operation ABS (anti-lock braking) and SRS (airbag) warning lights.
  • Check instrument lighting, control lighting.
  • Check heater and A/C blowers, rear window defroster.
  • Check rear view mirror.
  • Lubricate slide rails on sunroof.
  • Road Test.
  • Read out diagnostic system.
  • Reset service indicator.
  • Stamp service book_____(no service book found____).
Recommended Services (Invoiced Separately)
  • Rotate balance all 4 wheels and tires.
  • Service automatice transmission (where applicable), including replacement of filter screen, oil gasket.
Inspection II

This service is to be done in addition to the Inspection I service at 30,000 mile intervals beginning with 30,000
Undercarriage
  • Check clutch driving plate for wear.
  • Change manual transmission oil.
  • Check oil in rear axle.
  • Half-shafts:check for leaks at flexible boots.
  • Rear disc brakes:check thickness of parking brake linings.
  • Check front wheel bearing play.
Engine
  • Check automatic transmission oil (add if necessary).
  • Check and adjust drive belt tension (M20 engine).
  • Every five years or 50,000 miles (whichever comes first).
  • Change timing belt (M20 engine only). Invoice separately.
Annual Check
  • Change brake fluid (invoice separately).
  • Check operation of master cylinder and servo, and inspect for leaks.
  • Inspect body for rust (Warranty Inspection).
  • Check and adjust headlights and auxiliary driving lights.
  • Check steering:lock angle limits, threaded connections, power assistance.
  • Change coolant every two years (invoice separately).
Emission Control Service
  • Replace oxygen sensor every 30,000 (on appropriate models; invoice separately).
  • Reset Emission Control service reminder light.
"Minor Service"

This service is to be done every 15,000 miles beginning at 7,500 miles, alternating with the major service (either Inspection I or Inspection II, depending on mileage).
  • Change oil and oil filter.
  • Check steering box: linkage, joint disc, threaded connections, tightness and oil level.
  • Check brakes: pads and discs. Check hoses and connections for leaks and distortion. Check brake fluid level (see annual check). Check and adjust parking brake.
  • Check tire pressure and tread wear.
  • Check lighting: headlights (adjust if necessary), parking, back-up, license plate, interior, glove box, map light, sun visor, engine and luggage compartment lights. Turn signal, hazard flashers, brake lights, horns, headlight dimmer and flasher switch. Check control panel operation, and instrument lighting.
  • Check windshield wipers and washers. Adjust jet position and add washer fluid if necessary.
  • Check condition and operation of seat belts.
  • Check tension and condition of all V-belts.
  • Road Test.
  • Stamp service book_____(no service book found____).
  • Time and weather: wash car, vacuum interior, clean windows, wipe down vinyl seats.
Annual Check (invoiced separately)
  • Change brake fluid.
  • Check brakes: operation of master cylinder and servo, and inspect for leaks.
  • Adjust headlights and driving lights.
  • Change coolant every 2 years.
